Antibiotic Chart?

This is what my kitchen cabinet looked like a few weeks ago, and we even added a couple more prescriptions on top of what is in this picture! I just love the rainbow of colored rings around all the bottles... each of us in the family has a different color. I think we've actually used all of them that the Target pharmacy offers.... wonder what we'll do for Baby Cheesy? I'm pretty sure that all the Target pharmacists know me and the boys by name now. At least since I was going in there for a different prescription every other day I got to take advantage of a $10.00 gift card to the store that they were giving away for any prescription you were having filled! I racked up and I think got 6 or 7 different gift cards!! Almost makes it worth all the doctor visits and miserableness..... almost! I've forgotten now who had what, when it started, how many trips I made with the boys to the pediatrician (and it was only October!), etc.... I do know we had a sinus infection that didn't go away with the first antibiotic and had to be treated twice, 2 boys with ear infections, and 1 with ALOT of fluid in both his ears so they just went ahead and treated it anyway. Then I came down with some sort of yuck... I call it my traditional end of pregnancy cold, that I got a zpack for as well! All I can say is at least it was all ear/ sinus infections and not anything worse like fevers and the tummy bug!

BAMAmobile

Just had to add this one last picture that I took this past weekend from my phone! This is Stu's souped up Bama truck that we rode around in. It stood out a bit obnoxiously in all the sea of orange! We LOVED it :)

Alabama in Knoxville

This past weekend, Blake and I headed to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Alabama/ Tennessee game. Blake and his brother, Stu have gone to the past two AL/ UT games in Knoxville, so after the one two years ago, Rachael and I decided we weren't going to be left out this year! Even after I realized I would be 36 weeks pregnant! Knoxville is the perfect meet in the middle for us since Stu and Rachael live in North Alabama (Florence) and of course us being in Raleigh! We had some awesome babysitters for the boys (thanks Ash, Erica, and Candace!) and were able to just RELAX! I hadn't seen Stu and Rachael since Caleb was 14 months old!!! Not to mention gotten to sit and talk to them since we've all had kids! (They have two boys... Evan is almost 8 and Cole is 5) Boys run deep in those Hickman genes :) The day couldn't have been more beautiful for tailgating and a football game... brilliant sunshine, blue skies, and of course an Alabama victory- 41- 10! It was a close game in the first half, but Alabama pulled away quickly in the second half so we were really able to enjoy it!

Love, Love, LOVE it that Asher can read now! He is such a good reader and it is a rare, sweet moment around here that he shares that talent with his little brothers :) I'll take what I can get though!

A Straw House and the Three Little Piggies

Asher's class has been busy with their pumpkin unit this week culminating in their big "pumpkin project"! Which is actually just as much of a project for the moms! A few of us room moms have been working on this idea for a month or so now, gathering materials, etc. Each year the first grade classes at Grace enter the pumpkin contest at the Farmers Market here in Raleigh. They always do it up big with the teachers voting on a theme and the room moms helping to carry out whatever it may be! This year's was the Three Little Pigs and it was so fun to do! We had alot of fun coming up with different ideas to use for the houses and on the display board. The background of the board was painted by Grace's art teacher and each first grade class was resposible for one of the houses. Asher's class drew the straw house.... you can imagine how fun it was getting all that hay hot glued onto the pumpkin! The more vegetables/ produce you used, the better your chances of winning, so we included a garden, painted artichokes and garlic to look like flowers, used brussel sprouts for little cabbages, had broccoli trees, and made Mr. Big Bad Wolf out of an eggplant! The pigs are made out of potatoes that the kids painted pink! It was alot of work, but so much FUN! Stay tuned for the Farmers Market field trip pictures and whether or not our project was the winner!

A little of this and that...

We have been busy around here as always. Each day usually finds us out and about doing something. On one of Caleb's preschool days we had our buddy, Hudson over to play. The three boys played so well together! Alot of Tuesdays while Caleb is at school, I will run lots of random errands with just Nate and Judah. In these pictures we had to run by Harris Teeter (grocery store for you non Raleighians!) I don't usually do my big grocery shopping here, so the fun cart, free cookies, and balloons were like Disneyland to N and J! And it was like Disneyland to me to only have two to keep track of and no one hanging onto the cart... alas if only for a little while longer!

Community Helper Field Trip

Last week I got to go with Asher's first grade class on a field trip to downtown Cary. They have been studying community helpers and the trip included stops at a post office, bank, bakery, church, local pharmacy (an old timey one that still had booths and served lunch... loved it! Especially the chicken salad sandwich I had!), bead store... can't for the life of me remember the name of it, flower shoppe, library, park, and garage! It was alot of walking (for this pregnant mama!!) but so much FUN! Mrs. McCool, Asher's teacher's assistant handled all the details for this trip (she has been at Grace a LONG time) and every inch of it was awesome! She did a GREAT job! Now I'm excited to go back when Caleb is in first grade... and I won't be pregnant!!
