We Love You Daddy!

We spent Father's Day not doing too much of anything. Just spending time together. Daddy got some long overdue framed pictures of the boys for his office and an afternoon of freetime to watch the US Open golf tournament at his leisure! Thanks so much for all you do. You are such a great daddy and we love you so much.

Lots of love from your boys

Bunk Beds for the Boys!

Phase One of preparing for Baby Nate's arrival is complete! Part of Asher's birthday presents included new bunk beds for his room. (Which won't be just his for much longer!) We found some great bunk beds at BJ's and Blake was finally able to get a day free to put them together. We weren't too sure how Asher would do, especially with putting him on the top bunk, so we were prepared with some options if he was unsure about it. But no options were needed! He absolutely LOVED them and climbed up and down the ladder like he had been doing it forever! He's been sleeping on the top bunk for about a week now and is doing great. We are waiting until July to make the big move for Caleb though. Only one major change at a time is all I can handle! Everything else of his has already been moved into Asher's room, so the only thing that is missing is him and the stuff he sleeps with. I'm a little more anxious about this next big change, but hopefully it won't take TOO long for them to adjust to being in a room together.

Mama's Girl's Weekend

I was able to have a fun little getaway weekend with two of my girlfriends the second weekend of June. My two close girlfriends (Laura T. and Laura H.) and I left our kiddos and normal daily routines in the very capable hands of our loving husbands and took off for two nights to Charlotte, NC for some much needed time together with no children! Well kind- of... Laura Humphreys brought along Baby Joshua who is only 3 months, but compared to the usual 6 kids we usually have with us, having just him was a breeze! We managed to spend an entire day shopping at Concord Mills, including catching a 2:00 movie, and then stopping at Olive Garden for dinner. All with a baby! He did great and was quite the trooper. He even put up with us all having a pedicure the next morning. (He'll love to hear all about this one day I'm sure!) We had such a wonderful time and are all counting the days until we can plan Girl's Weekend Part Two! O yeah, all of our houses were still standing when we got home. Way to go hubbies!

Our Spring Hill Suites by Marriott where we stayed.

This was how Joshua looked pretty much all weekend. What a sweetie!

It's Backyard Pool Time!

Whew! Our internet is finally up and running again and we've been pretty busy around here so please excuse all the different posts at the same time! We decided to break out the wading pool and let Caleb have his first experience with it since he was too little last year to enjoy it. He wasn't too sure at first, but eventually warmed up to the pool and let me put him in it! Asher loved having a playmate, especially someone he could splash. They had a great time and only got out because Caleb got a little TOO comfortable and decided to christen the pool. Let's just say that thankfully those swim diapers hold in their contents pretty well!
Asher was an old pro at the slide this year! Caleb still a little unsure about all this.
Still preferring to play outside of the pool! Finally! Successfully in the pool!

Technical Difficulties

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! I'm really not so sure that technology is a good thing. Please excuse a delay in the posting of pictures and stories of our 2 soon to be 3 wonderful sons. Amber and I are waiting to have a new line run to our house this Friday that should allow us to be up and running for home internet service again. We've been out of commission since last Thursday. Thanks for your patience. I wish Amber and I had some left at this point.

Asher is 3!

June 3rd was Asher's birthday. We had such a fun day (even though it was the one day we had rain off and on all day!) We celebrated with church in the morning, Red Robin for lunch, a Cars birthday cake, lots of presents, and a trip to his first ever Durham Bulls baseball game! Of course it started to rain really hard right before we left for the game and we were thinking we were crazy for even attempting to go. But wouldn't you know that when we got there it had stopped raining and didn't rain a drop again! Asher LOVED it, especially getting to meet the Bulls mascot, Wool E. Bull! I cannot believe our little goose is three! Where has the time gone? We have been so blessed to have him these last three years! Happy Birthday Asher, We love you.

Look Mom and Dad... a bug vacuum!

Bay and Kira... the bringers of the bug vacuum!

Dad gave me a stylin green baseball glove and a tee for me to practice my swing with!

I think Caleb had as much fun opening presents as Asher did!

Pullen Park: Part Two

We went back to Pullen Park over the Memorial Day weekend, but this time we brought Daddy along. Asher felt much braver with Daddy and managed to graduate from the "couch" on the carousel to a lion. (We are still working on getting him to ride one that goes up and down... maybe next time!) Caleb preferred to ride side saddle!
The train was having problems and we ended up waiting in line to ride on it two different times with no luck :( We'll have to save that for another time I guess. We did have a fun picnic lunch with the boys enjoying their customary PB & J sandwiches. What's lunchtime without one of those!

Yum! I think Caleb's favorite part was lunchtime!
