Our New Buddy Camden!

We met up with my friend Ashley and her son Camden at the park yesterday. It was so much fun! Asher and Camden are 5 months apart and this was the first time we have ever got them together to play! (I know, shame on us!) They did really well, aside from the fact that they were at a big park with lots of things to do in every direction! We did manage to get them to actually spend some time together swinging. And they were even sweet and took turns pushing each other. It was a great day to play, aside from the ground being a little wet. As evidenced by the dark spots under the swings. Cam got a little too adventurous in the puddles.... too bad I didn't get a picture of that, right Ash? I promise, Caleb and Nate were there too. Just didn't get any pictures of them. This was the park where Caleb had his disastrous fall back at the beginning of the summer, so he was still rather leary of all the slides and was extremely cautious. He did manage to attach himself to a random dad that had two kids playing on the slides. Guess he thought he could do a better job of protecting him! Hooray for new buddies! Can't wait to do it again!

Confessions of a Soccer Dad

So today something happened that I never thought would. I became a soccer dad. Now, I only played one season of fall soccer when I was in 3rd grade. I didn't have anything against soccer, most of my closest friends in high school were soccer players. I just never played. Today however, Asher began what I can only imagine will someday be a World Cup career. Here are some pictures and commentary on our afternoon. I was so proud of Asher. He's never played soccer before, but he caught on really quick and loved running and chasing the ball during their "game". I asked him who he thought was the best out there today and he said, "Me, dad." We'll work on humility next week.

This look is patented. I've got pictures of me with the same "focused look".You'll notice a trend with the picking up of the ball. He is a perfectionist like his mom and has to have the ball set up just so before he kicks it. We are working on that.

Exhibit 2 with the picking up of the ball. It got better after this time. He finally started to get it.

Water Break

Bubbs had to get in on the action too. Here he is showing off his new transformer.

Caleb wasn't supposed to be in this picture. This was supposed to be Asher practicing kicking into the goal. Bubbs had to get in on this one though.

Game Time. Here is Ash getting his game face on.

Though it may look like it, he really didn't knock that kid down.

The other team scored. Ash was not happy.

Am, Nate and Caleb came out to join the fun as well. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast. Only 5 more sessions left. This is going to be a great few weeks.

28 Weeks!

Okay, for those of you who know me, prego picture taking is NOT my favorite thing to do, but I decided since I hardly have any with my other three I needed to do a better job this time around. I am only 28 weeks along, but really feel as big as a house. Seriously, with the boys I was all basketball out front, but this one seems to be taking up more of my stomach. Maybe it's just a fourth pregnancy thing. I'm definitely carrying different this time around and can tell more the bigger I get. I had my glucose tolerance test last Thursday and am happy to report that I am glucose tolerant! Since I did not pass my first test with either Caleb or Nate and had to go back both times for the three hour test, I decided to bypass the first one this time around and go straight to the three hour one! Although you have to drink a much nastier drink and get poked not once, but four times, I'm glad I only had to go in once and that I passed with flying colors. And I even had a quiet, peaceful morning all to myself at the doctor's office, while Blake was home playing Mr. Mom....
My pregnancy since the first trimester has been fairly uneventful. This baby has been pretty low key. His/ her movements have been very easy and gentle. No hard pokes or jabs... yet! He/ she does get the hiccups on a pretty regular basis though. It has been fun not knowing this baby's gender (although we are just planning on boy #4!) Asher is sure it is a girl and Caleb disputes that saying it is a boy. We shall know soon enough. If you haven't seen our baby poll on the side of our blog, check it out and let us know what you think!

Cubbie Time Again!

Tonight was Asher's first night of AWANA Cubbies for the new year. Quite a difference a year makes!

Caleb... holding on for dear life! "Don't leave me Asher!" Only one more year Bubbs, then you can go too!

Three Amigos

One of the only recent pictures I have of all three boys ALL looking at the camera!
This was supposed to be our Promotion Sunday picture although Nate and Caleb are having more fun smiling at each other. The boys all did great in their new Sunday School classes. Asher is now in the oldest Sunday School class (fours and fives)at the 8:00 service, that our church has before they start coming into the "big" church service! Yikes!

Baby Smith is Almost Here!

Gwen and all her goods!
Gwen with her sister in law and niece, CarolineWe threw a baby shower for Joel and Gwen Smith about a month ago (just a tad behind in my blogging!) They are expecting their first baby in September. It was so fun to see all the little things for Baby Smith! We are so excited and can't wait to see if it is a boy or girl!

Labor Day Fun... a little late

We met up with some of our favorite friends, the Roarks, for some free Chick-fil-a chicken strips at lunch. They were giving out freebies as long as you wore something with a team logo. We had to get our picture taken representing the SEC .... LSU, Tennessee, and Alabama. Now you don't see all those shirts together everyday!
Then we headed over to their house in the afternoon for some burgers and dogs... and of course some slip and slide action!
The boys enjoying dinner.

and E!
(Thanks A for all the pics!)
Nate and Hudson were so enthused
This wasn't part of our Labor Day festivities, but it was one of my posts that just never got done, so I thought I would stick it in. We all went out on a double date a few weeks ago for some yummy Mexican. It was so fun! We love you guys!

The Preschooler!

Does he look excited to you?
All ready to go

"Dad, the sun is in my eyes, here!"
Ash and Daddy
I think these pictures say it all. Asher had a GREAT day for his first day! He already can't wait to go back on Thursday! He said with much certainty that the playground and lunchtime were his favorite parts of the day. Although I did hear about the red light/ green light system for the bathroom door and that he wants to take cheese sticks in his lunch the next time! It was quite different being home alone for three straight hours with just Caleb and Nate, although it felt like having just one during Nate's morning nap! I think I can get used to this! Caleb recovered quite nicely and had a fun time playing with all the toys and having them all to himself. We read some books together and had a nice lunch. I was actually able to get my lunch made and eaten at the same time as the boys! Will wonders never cease! Then we loaded up the van and all went to pick Asher up. He came to the car grinning from ear to ear. Although I did get in the wrong carpool line... oops!

Me and Just Two!

Well I have officially entered the ranks of sending a child off for their first day of school! Preschool that is! Asher was SO excited and couldn't wait to get out the door this morning. We decided to let Blake take him, and then Caleb, Nate, and I will pick him up this afternoon! It already feels so different with just two! Although it will be only 3 mornings a week. Caleb had a tough morning and was pretty sad about losing his playmate. We'll let you know how the day goes.... Stay tuned!
