ROOOOLLL TIDE ROLL!

This pretty much says it all... I think our house has finally calmed down after all our Alabama excitement! We partied big time after Alabama won their 13th college football national championship! ROLL TIDE! (Daddy has successfully converted four more!)

Guess Who's Reading!

I'm still trying to get used to this one.... our afternoons and evenings have been filled with reading our "20 minutes" a night! Asher started reading groups at school right after Christmas break and has been off and reading ever since! He's doing SO great and we couldn't be prouder of him.... another milestone in his little life has come and gone! Sigh.... he's growing up so fast! Where does the time go?

Penguin Day

I am a little out of order posting this since I still have some December stuff to post (Christmas, Caleb's birthday, Alabama's national championship!), but since I have turned over a new leaf and am back to blogging, I wanted to get this up :) Today is Penguin Day at school since Asher's class is learning about Antarctica. He was a very "reserved excited" about dressing up this morning especially since mom was "making" his costume. The perfectionist that he is kept fixing his feet flippers and complaining that they weren't staying on straight. Really, I have NO idea where he gets this tendency from.... must be daddy :) All the kindergarten classes are going to play penguin games in the gym this morning, have a "snowball" fight using a surprise material for their snowballs, hmmmm, and run through a penguin maze! Can't wait to hear all about it. Since Blake is out of town for a few days, I have to hang with the other three and won't be able to be at school for all the fun :(
I guess this thing is alright Mom
cute lil' penguin
i still have yet to learn how to turn pictures... but wanted to give y'all the full shot complete with flippers!

More of the Bug's birthday....

table ready for the party
help with the "blowing"
hmmmmm
This being the first year we "celebrated" Judah's birthday besides the actual birth day in the hospital, I was a bit overwhelmed thinking about a first birthday party in the midst of all the pre- Christmas craziness. And of course our busiest week of Christmas parties was the week of J's birthday! It actually became a blessing though, because I was on my game this year with Christmas since I knew I had all the extra birthdays thrown in with it, Blake's, Caleb's.... aren't I forgetting one! Ha.... anyway, we celebrated Judah's day with birthday donuts that morning before Asher went to school, and opened presents from us. Then we had our annual staff Christmas party over at the Wright's that afternoon/ evening (crazy day!) We did an actual party on that Friday night with pizza and snowman cupcakes and tried to keep it low key. We had a few friends over to help celebrate, unfortunately I have no pictures of those. Allison took some great ones and as soon as I figure out how to get them from my email onto the blog, I will post them :) (I KNOW you're laughing right now as you're reading this, A!) All in all, we had a great time celebrating my big one year old! Where did the year go and where is my baby?!
still trying to figure out how to hold up his "one" finger

Judah is ONE!

Can you believe this... wasn't even posed for and it was at 7:00 in the morning!
What a cutie!
new backpack for church which now has is name monogrammed on it!
mmmmmm.... green monster!
enjoying his traditional birthday donuts!

Vist from Nana and Papa

I don't know why we're missing Nate... excuse Judah's excessive drool and Caleb's face (he had an incident with his bike and the road!)
Papa lovin on Judah and the Cat in the Hat

Nana and Asher on the playground at school
We are so fortunate that my parents are able and wiling to come see us as often as they can. My mom is so funny in that whenever they have just been out to see us and get back home, she is always ready to hop right back on a plane or in the car to come see us again! Even with the craziness of our house! Mom and Dad were able to spend a week with us this last November before all the craziness with the holidays, schedules, birthdays, etc. It was such a nice, relaxing time to be able to spend together where we didn't have to go anywhere or do anything. We were able to just enjoy the time. Mom got to come with me to help out with Asher's class at lunch and recess one day, which of course Asher LOVED! We had a couple Uno an domino nights complete with popcorn and hot chocolate; and both Mom and Dad spoiled me by taking me on special dates with each of them. Mom and I Christmas shopping and to Olive Garden. Dad and I to his first time trying out Pei Wei! The boys had lots of outside walks with Papa and time reading books with Nana. Thanks Mom and Dad.... come back sooooon :)

Kindergarten Katch up!

Just a little of this and a little of that..... Kindergarten is just flying by and Asher is loving it! He has the BEST teachers and is already reading and learning so much. We just registered him for FIRST grade for next year... CAN'T even believe that!
Getting ready to do the hat dance at their Mexican fiesta!
Ready for their feast.... Asher looks to be praying extra hard :)

A and his buddy Katie F. (There are two Katies in his class, so that F. is super important!)
Brenna and Tasha (two of Asher's favorites.... Asher is amazed that Brenna has NEVER moved her butterfly all year (layman's terms = hasn't gotten in trouble all year so far!)
The kindergarten- second grade classes at their Christmas program... I was a bit annoyed because Asher was in the second row and we weren't able to see him at all and he couldn't really see out because of the kid in front of him.... you can actually see a bit of his hair in this shot. He is in the very center behind the two kids in white. You can see half of his face and tell that he is wearing a red shirt!

Will I blog again?

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..... after a brief, well a little more than brief blogging hiatus, I WILL be back to updating the blog sooooon. Have had some camera issues, but really it has just been so crazy around here. Look for new pictures SOON!
