A couple of weeks ago (I have yet to get back in the blogging groove ) we loaded the boys up and drove to Asheboro and the North Carolina Zoo. The weather was absolutely gorgeous that day and it had been something we had been wanting to do for awhile now. The boys were so excited and we really had a great day. We learned a couple tricks as well for the next time we venture back. First of all, (and I knew this from my teaching days and second grade field trips) the zoo is quite large and really has two main parts. The only problem is there is quite a lot of walking in between them. We chose to go in the Africa entrance and unfortunately never made it all the way back down to other, North America entrance. Thus missing out on polar bears and penguins. We were able to see most everything else that we wanted though. Second, we thought we had a great plan of taking two strollers instead of a double (easier to maneuver, Caleb could get in and out without upseting Nate, and so on) and Asher was thrilled to be able to walk. Well that lasted all of about the first 20 minutes. There was really too much walking for him and since we were encumbered with our strollers the little shuttles weren't really an option for us. The zoo did have those really nice, turn on a dime, Disneyworldlike strollers where you can put two kids in at a time and they work well for bigger kids too, so that is the way we are going to go next time. Best of both worlds.... ride and walk! All in all it was a great day, complete with cotton candy which Caleb enjoyed spitting out his mouth!
In other news, my baby is now almost 8 1/2 months and has graduated to his ducky tub! I always loved this tub with Asher and Caleb and Nate is enjoying splashing around with a little more room. He has (just this week) started crawling so nothing is safe anymore. The days of plunking him in just one spot are over. Asher and Caleb both waited until 9 1/2 months for this blessed event, so Nate must be on the fast track! Ha... can't believe he is getting so big!

Ooooh - thanks for sharing the tips! We are really wanting to take Will soon! Hopefully before it gets too hot.
Okay, it's simply crazy at how much we are alike as moms. We have the ducky tub and we went to the zoo this weekend too! Too sad we don't live near each other! Our boys are certain to have been the best of friends!
Hi Amber! Do you think Jocelyn is big enough to enjoy the zoo? (She's 15 months and running all over the place.) I think so, but I've never been before.
